There are three ways to watch television in Azerbaijan: a rooftop aerial, a satellite dish, or streaming over the internet. The third has spread quickly in recent years, because home connections now comfortably carry a television stream. Below we set out plainly what to expect and what to watch out for.
What IPTV is — in one paragraph
IPTV delivers channels over the internet connection you already have, instead of through an aerial or a cable network. No climbing onto the roof, no dish bolted to the balcony, no cable channel cut into the wall: you open an app on the TV, enter your subscription code, and the channels appear as a list.
The technical logic is simple — the broadcast arrives at your device as a stream from a server. That makes picture quality depend on two things: how stable the server is and how fast your internet is. The first is our job; the second you can check in the free trial before you pay anything.
Azerbaijani channels are in the list
A local subscriber always asks the same question first: are the Azerbaijani channels there? The package includes 20 Azerbaijani channels — from state broadcasters to private and sports channels. Some of the names you will recognise:
Next to the local section, the most-watched part is the Turkish channels: 51 Turkish channels, 19 Turkish UHD-QHD channels, 18 documentary channels and 15 Tivibu and D-Smart channels. After that come 28 Russian channels, 29 sports channels, 16 news, 16 film, 13 children's and 14 music channels, plus 17 channels from Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Arab countries.
The published list shows 256 channels in 12 categories; the full library, counting the film and series archive, comes to more than 10,000 titles. You can browse the channel list broken down by category, or open the channel packages page to pick by subject.
IPTV instead of a satellite dish — what the difference is
Satellite still works, but in a flat it becomes tiring in several places. Let us compare the two through everyday situations rather than abstract claims.
| Situation | Satellite dish | IPTV |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Dish, receiver, cable, an installer's visit | App and code — 5–10 minutes, remotely |
| Weather | Heavy rain and snow can break up the picture | Weather makes no difference; your internet does |
| Which way the balcony faces | Needs a clear view of the right part of the sky | Makes no difference |
| Adding new channels | Frequency search, sometimes new hardware | Added from the server side |
| Moving house | The dish has to be reinstalled | The code works at the new address too |
| A second room | Another receiver and more cable | A device tariff, no extra hardware |
| Film archive | None | Included in the subscription |
Compared with cable television
Cable TV has one basic condition: the operator's line has to reach your building. If it does not, the price and the channel list never even become a conversation.
- In newly built blocks, or ones just out of renovation, the line is sometimes never run and sometimes takes months. IPTV has no building condition — an internet connection is enough.
- On cable the channel list is limited to the operator's package; sport and foreign channels are often in a separately paid tier. With us every category sits inside one subscription.
- A cable subscription is tied to an address. An IPTV code is tied to the person: you move, and the code moves with you.
- There is no question of cutting a cable route into a freshly renovated wall.
Is your internet fast enough?
In Azerbaijani conditions this is the most important question, and the answer depends far less on the provider's name than on your real speed. It makes no difference whether you are on ADSL, VDSL, fibre or GPON — what matters is that the speed and stability clear the thresholds below.
| Quality you watch in | Recommended speed |
|---|---|
| HD | 8–10 Mbps |
| Full HD | 12–15 Mbps |
| 4K Ultra HD | 25+ Mbps |
These figures are for one stream. If two screens will run at the same time at home, you need to allow that speed for each screen. If you are planning several simultaneous screens, see the multi-device subscription section.
More often than not this is about stability rather than speed. An old ADSL line can lose speed in the evening; on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network dozens of neighbouring networks interfere with one another. The simplest check: plug the TV into the router with a cable and open the same channel again. If it behaves differently, the problem is not IPTV but your home network.
Which devices it works on
There is no requirement to buy new hardware. One of the devices already in the house usually does the job.
Smart TV
On Samsung, LG, Android TV and Google TV models the app installs from the store. The steps: IPTV on Smart TV.
Android and iPhone
The same subscription works on phones and tablets. Android · iPhone and iPad.
Computer
There are player options for Windows and macOS — handy as a second screen in the study. IPTV on Windows.
An older TV
A TV without smart functions takes an Android box. When one is needed is explained on the setup page.
Prices and subscription lengths
We do not hide the prices — three lengths, one table. The packages contain the same thing; the difference is the term, and what that means per month.

Per month the best value is the 12-month package. We have written separately about the difference between cheap and good value: good value IPTV. The full tariff table and device prices are on the prices page.
For those living outside Azerbaijan
Because IPTV runs over the internet, a national border is no obstacle to it. For a subscriber living in Turkey, Russia or Europe who wants to watch Azerbaijani channels, this is the simplest route — AzTV, ITV and the sports channels open without a local operator's line. Details by region: regional subscriptions.
What to look at when choosing a provider
This section is not written in our own favour — the criteria below apply equally to any seller and can be checked in a few minutes before you pay.
- Is the channel list given in writing and in the open, or only promised in words?
- Is a trial offered before payment? A seller who gives no trial passes the whole risk to you.
- Are the prices written on the site, or is a different figure quoted to each customer?
- Is there a stable contact channel to write to when something goes wrong, and how long do replies take?
- Is it stated in advance what happens if the service stops — our own conditions are on the guarantee page.
To see every stage of buying, step by step: how to buy IPTV.
How you get started
- Message us on WhatsApp and say which device you will watch on — TV, phone or box.
- Get your 24-hour trial code. No card details are asked for.
- Install the app and enter the code. This stage takes 5–10 minutes and is done remotely.
- Test it in the evening, when the network is at its busiest. If you like it, choose a package.
If you live in Baku, we have written separately about the details around flats and buildings: IPTV in Baku.
The trial code stays open for 24 hours and no card details are asked for. Just tell us the name of your device — we handle the rest of the setup.
Frequently asked questions
Does IPTV include Azerbaijani channels?
Yes, the package has 20 Azerbaijani channels — including names such as AzTV, ITV, Idman TV, CBC Sport, Space TV, Khazar TV, ARB and Baku TV. The local section is not a separately paid package; it is inside the standard subscription.
You can see the full breakdown in the channel list.
My internet is ADSL — will IPTV work?
If the speed holds steadily at the 8–10 Mbps needed for HD, it will. On ADSL lines the main problem is not the headline speed but the drop in the evening.
That is why we suggest running the trial in the evening, between 20:00 and 23:00 — a line that looks faultless during the day can behave quite differently at peak hours.
Do I have to take down my satellite dish?
No, there is no need. IPTV is a separate route that does not depend on the dish at all; the two can sit side by side. Many subscribers run IPTV in parallel for a while, then find they no longer need the dish and stop using it.
Do I need to buy a separate device for IPTV?
In most cases, no. If you have a Smart TV, an Android TV or a Google TV, the app installs from its own store. The same subscription also works on a phone, a tablet and a computer.
Only an older TV without smart functions needs a small Android box. Which models need what is explained on the setup page.
What quality does the stream come in?
There are HD, Full HD and 4K Ultra HD channels. Which one opens depends on your internet: 4K needs 25+ Mbps, while 12–15 Mbps is enough for Full HD.
If the app carries the same channel in several qualities, choosing the lower option on a weak line prevents freezing.
Does IPTV use a lot of internet data?
On an unlimited home connection this is not an issue. Data use depends on quality — watching in 4K takes considerably more than HD.
If you are watching on a mobile package with a data cap, it makes more sense to keep the quality at Full HD and to connect to a home network where you can.
Can I use the subscription outside Azerbaijan?
Yes. The code is tied to the subscriber, not to an address — it opens anywhere there is internet. For those living abroad who want Azerbaijani and Turkish channels, the details are on the regional subscription page.
