To watch IPTV on a Smart TV you need no extra box, dish or cable: a player is installed from the television's own app store, the subscription details are typed into it and the channels open. The difficulty is that “Smart TV” is not one system. Samsung runs its own Tizen, LG runs webOS, while Sony, TCL, Philips and Xiaomi run Android TV. The menu, the store and even the name of the app differ on each of them.
We have split this page up by brand. If you know your television's brand, go straight to that section; if you don't, start with the table below.
Which system your television runs
The brand name written on the remote control or the box is enough to work out the system. Android TV devices usually have a Google Assistant button on the remote, while Samsung has a coloured “Smart Hub” button.
| Brand | Operating system | Apps that work |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung (2016 and later) | Tizen | Smart IPTV, IPTV Smarters Pro |
| LG (2015 and later) | webOS | Smart IPTV, IPTV Smarters Pro |
| Sony Bravia | Android TV / Google TV | IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate |
| TCL, Philips, Hisense (Android models) | Android TV / Google TV | IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate |
| Xiaomi TV, Mi Box | Android TV | IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate |
| Older models (2014 and earlier) | Older Tizen/webOS, own system | An Android box is recommended |
On Samsung you can see the model number and system version under Menu → Support → About this TV, on LG under Settings → General → About this TV. Send us those two lines on WhatsApp and we will tell you which app to install — you don't have to go searching the store.
Setting up on a Samsung Smart TV
Two apps work on Samsung televisions: Smart IPTV and IPTV Smarters Pro. The first is simpler and runs lightly even on older models; the second has a richer menu, channel search and a films and series section.
- Press Home on the remote control and open the Apps section.
- Tap the search icon and type Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters Pro.
- Install the app and open it. On the first launch Smart IPTV shows the device's MAC address on screen — send us that line exactly as it is.
- If you chose IPTV Smarters Pro, pick the Xtream Codes API method on the first screen and enter the username, password and server address we send you.
- Once the channel list has loaded the categories open: Azerbaijani, Turkish, sport, films, kids and the rest. You can see which channels are included in advance in the channel list.
If the app doesn't appear in the Samsung store
This is the problem Samsung users meet most often, and the cause is almost always the same: the app store shows content according to the country on your Samsung account. If the app isn't in that country's listing, the search finds nothing.
- Sign out of your Samsung account and sign back in — the store listing sometimes refreshes afterwards.
- Update the television's firmware: Support → Software update. On an older Tizen version some apps are simply not supported.
- Don't type the app's full name — searching “iptv” instead of “smart iptv” returns more results.
- If none of that helps, we have an answer: a small Android box plugged into the television lets you run any app. Read the section below.
Some apps such as Smart IPTV ask for a one-off licence fee per device after the trial period. That payment goes to the app's own owner, is not included in our subscription and is not under our control either. If you would rather not pay it, we set up the free alternative — IPTV Smarters Pro.
Setting up on an LG Smart TV (webOS)
On LG the steps resemble Samsung's, but the store is called the LG Content Store and the apps are spread between the “Premium” and “Apps” sections.
- Press Home on the remote control and open the LG Content Store.
- Type IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV into the search bar at the top.
- Install the app, open it and enter the subscription details (or the MAC address).
- Once the channel list has loaded, add your favourite channels to Favourites — this is very comfortable with the pointer on the LG remote control.
What changes on older webOS versions
On models before webOS 3.0 (roughly up to 2015) the Content Store often has no modern IPTV apps. On those televisions two routes remain: either make do with a web player in the browser, or plug in an Android box. In our experience the second route is both more stable and a longer-term answer, because the box's software keeps being updated while an old television's system does not.
There is one more detail: on older LG models HEVC (H.265) encoding is not supported at hardware level. On such televisions high-quality streams freeze. Those channels can be delivered in their HD version — we set that up for you in support.
Sony, TCL, Philips — Android TV and Google TV
The Android TV family is the most comfortable platform for IPTV: the choice of apps on Google Play is wide, the system keeps updating and you can plug in an external player. Sony Bravia, TCL, Philips, Hisense and Xiaomi models belong to this group.
- Open the Google Play Store and search for IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate.
- Install the app, open it and enter the subscription details.
- If you chose TiviMate, first take the Add playlist → Xtream Codes route and switch on EPG (programme guide) updates.
- In the settings set the decoder option to “Hardware”; if the picture breaks up, try the “Hardware+” or “Software” option.
Why we single TiviMate out
TiviMate has an interface built for remote control use, a very tidy programme guide and the ability to rearrange channel groups however you like. For anyone who watches a lot of channels and uses the television as their main screen, it is the most comfortable option. Some of the app's features open in the paid version, but the main viewing works in the free part.
If the app can't be installed by any route
If every route is closed — the model is old, the store is empty, the system won't update — that doesn't mean giving up on IPTV. If the television has an HDMI input, there is an answer.
Android TV box
A small device plugged into the television's HDMI input turns it into a fully functional Android TV. The most important figure when choosing is memory: take at least 2 GB of RAM, as 1 GB models freeze on 4K streams.
Streaming from a phone
You can send the picture to the television with Chromecast from an Android phone or AirPlay from an iPhone. It works as a temporary answer, but there is latency and battery drain. More: Android and iPhone pages.
Connecting a laptop by HDMI
If there is a laptop in the house, one HDMI cable is enough. VLC or IPTV Smarters work on Windows — see the Windows guide.
The general setup steps
Whatever the brand, the order doesn't change. We go through all of these steps together on WhatsApp — all you do is pick up the remote control.
Send a trial request
Write to WhatsApp and tell us the television's brand and model. No card details are asked for the 24-hour free trial.
Install the app
We tell you the name of the app that suits your brand and you install it from the store. This step takes 2–3 minutes.
Enter the subscription details
Either you send us the MAC address, or you type the username and password we give you into the app.
Load the channel list
Once the list has loaded the categories appear. Caching can take a few seconds.
Check the quality
Open a sports channel, a film channel and a news channel. If there is freezing, we change the player's decoder setting.
Internet speed and network connection
On Smart TVs the most complained-about problem, “the channel freezes”, usually comes not from the subscription but from the television's Wi-Fi reception. Unlike phones, televisions sit against a wall or inside closed furniture and their aerial is weak.
| Quality | Speed needed | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| HD | 8–10 Mbps | Enough for standard channels |
| Full HD | 12–15 Mbps | The most widely used quality |
| 4K Ultra HD | 25+ Mbps | A cable connection is recommended — 4K page |
- Where you can, connect the television to the router with a LAN cable. That solves most freezing problems once and for all.
- If you use Wi-Fi, connect to the 5 GHz network — 2.4 GHz gets mixed up with the neighbours' networks.
- If the router is two walls away from the television, a Wi-Fi extender or a powerline adapter is a cheaper answer than putting up with frozen channels.
Problems specific to Smart TVs and their fixes
| Problem | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The app isn't in the store | The account's country, an old system version | Update the system, sign out and back in, and if that fails, an Android box |
| Channels open but freeze | Weak Wi-Fi reception, unsuitable decoder | A LAN cable, the 5 GHz network, a decoder change in the player |
| Sound but no picture | HEVC encoding isn't supported | We switch you to the channel's HD version |
| The programme guide (EPG) is empty | The EPG source isn't enabled in the app | Switch on EPG updates in the app settings |
| Typing with the remote is very slow | The television keyboard | Type using the remote app on your phone, or send the details to us |
| The app closes as it opens | Not enough memory, a full cache | Unplug the television from the network for 30 seconds, then clear the app's cache |
The table above is there to help you understand what is happening. In practice we do all of it with you in WhatsApp support: you send a screenshot, we tell you which setting needs changing. Support runs 24/7 and continues for the whole subscription term.
Price and trial
There is no separate rate for Smart TV — a television and a phone work on the same subscription. Only the number of screens open at the same time affects the price.

Frequently asked questions
Does IPTV work on every Smart TV?
It works on every television that connects to the internet and allows apps to be installed. In practice there are no problems on Samsung, LG and Android TV models released after 2015–2016.
On older models the app store can be empty. In those cases a small Android box plugged into the HDMI input solves it — there is no need to replace the television.
On Samsung, Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters Pro?
On older models with little memory Smart IPTV runs more lightly, but it has a one-off licence fee per device. IPTV Smarters Pro is free, has a richer interface and a films and series section, but it asks for a little more memory.
We make the decision together: you tell us the model and we know from experience which one will run comfortably on it.
The app search on my television finds nothing — what should I do?
First update the system and sign out of the television account and back in — the store listing changes with the account's country. Then search with a short keyword (“iptv”).
If there is still no result, the model is old. In that case we recommend an Android box: it plugs into the television's HDMI input, every app works on it, and you don't run into system update problems in the years that follow.
If channels freeze on a Smart TV, is there a problem with the subscription?
Usually not. Televisions sit inside furniture, far from the router, and their Wi-Fi reception is weak. If the same subscription runs smoothly on a phone, the cause is the network.
The order is this: try a LAN cable, then switch to the 5 GHz network, then change the player's decoder setting. If none of that helps, we check from the server side.
Does the film and series archive show on the television too?
Yes, in apps such as IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate a films and series section opens alongside the live channels and it is included in the subscription — we don't sell a separate “film package”. Smart IPTV has a simpler interface where the focus is on live channels. More: films and series.
Can I move the subscription from one television to another?
You can. With the same subscription you install the app on the new television and enter the details, then close the old one. There is no extra charge, because the limit is not on the device itself but on the number of screens open at the same time.
If you use Smart IPTV, you need to write to us, because the new device's MAC address is different.
