The Premier League is the most watched foreign league in Azerbaijan, and most of the questions that reach us are about two things: what time does the match start in our hours, and which channel should I look on. This page is the answer to those two questions. Channel names belong to their respective rights holders — we only show the broadcasts available in the package.
Kick-off times — in Baku time
England puts its clocks forward by an hour in spring and summer. So the gap with Baku is 4 hours for half the year and 3 hours for the other half. The table gives both cases, so your arithmetic works in October and in March alike.

The times above are the broadcast slots the league habitually uses. The time of a particular match can be moved by the broadcaster — especially when cup fixtures and the European calendar overlap. So the most accurate way is to look at the channel's own programme guide before the round starts.

Which channels you need to check
Premier League rights are distributed country by country: one match may be on a British channel, another on a Turkish channel, a third with Russian commentary. All three directions are in the package, so you usually find the match in one of the groups below.
- If you want the original commentary — Sky Sports Football and TNT Sports 1 are the first channels to check. English commentary, studio analysis and statistics graphics.
- If you want Turkish commentary — the S Sport group and the Tivibu Spor streams. Turkish commentary is easier to follow in Azerbaijan, which makes it the most chosen option.
- If you want Russian commentary — the Матч Премьер and Матч Футбол streams. Russian-language studio analysis is more extensive on these channels.

Watching the Premier League in 4K
Not every Premier League match is broadcast in 4K — there is a UHD stream for selected fixtures. In other words, buying a 4K television does not automatically mean seeing every match in 4K; that depends on the broadcaster of the match in question.
To open a 4K stream, three conditions have to be met at the same time:
A 4K-capable screen
The television has to be UHD. Even if 4K content opens on a Full HD television, the screen scales it down to its own resolution — you see no difference and the bandwidth is wasted.
25+ Mbps steady internet
Run the speed test during the busy hours of the day. The speed measured at 21:00 is lower than the speed measured at midday — and the matches start in exactly those hours.
A cable connection
On a 4K stream, packet loss shows up immediately as freezing. Wi-Fi works, but an Ethernet cable makes a noticeable difference with sports.

A short preparation for match day
- Open the channel 5–10 minutes before kick-off — let the buffer fill and the studio build-up run in the background.
- Stop downloads, cloud syncs and games-console updates on the same network.
- Turn off sports notifications on your phone — the IPTV stream arrives a few seconds late, while the alert tells you the score first.
- Add a backup channel to your favourites in advance: if the main stream drops, switching to the second channel is one click.
A subscription for the whole season: which package fits
The Premier League season runs from the middle of August to the end of May — roughly ten months. Frequently asked questions
What time do Premier League matches start in Baku time?
In local time the standard slots fall mostly around 16:30, 19:00, 21:30 and 24:00; on Sunday 18:00 and 20:30 are the most common. Because England is an hour ahead in spring and summer, those times shift an hour earlier then. Since the time of a particular match can change, checking the channel's programme guide ahead of the round is more accurate.
Which channel are the matches on?
Because the rights are split by country, you need to check several channels. For English commentary there are Sky Sports Football and TNT Sports 1, for Turkish commentary S Sport 1, S Sport Plus and the Tivibu Spor streams, and for Russian commentary Матч Премьер and Матч Футбол — all of them in the package.
Are all the matches in 4K?
No. 4K broadcasting happens for selected matches, not for a whole round — that is the broadcaster's decision, not a limit of the subscription. To watch in 4K you need a UHD television and steady 25+ Mbps internet. If those conditions are missing, choose the Full HD stream: it runs more stably.
Can I watch a midnight match on my phone?
Yes. The subscription code works in the Android, iPhone, Windows and Smart TV apps. Switching devices in turn — closing it on the television and opening it on the phone — is possible on a standard subscription with nothing extra to pay. Only opening two screens at the same time requires the multi-device plan.
My connection is 15 Mbps, can I watch the match?
Yes, 12–15 Mbps is enough for Full HD and most Premier League matches run comfortably on the FHD stream. Do not try to open the 4K stream — at that speed the buffer empties and the picture freezes. Measure your speed at kick-off time, that is while the network is busy: the real figure is the one you get at that moment.
