Most of our subscribers come to IPTV for football. That makes the sports category the most closely checked part of the package: 29 channels from four different broadcasting regions. Below we give both the channel names and the technical points specific to sport — because in football a one-second freeze is a different matter from watching a film.
The channels in the sports category
The channels are grouped by origin. Azerbaijani channels for local matches, Turkish streams for the Turkish and European competitions, and for the domestic leagues of European countries the channels of those countries themselves.
On top of that there are sports streams in the Russian category as well: Матч ТВ FHD, Матч Премьер FHD and Матч Футбол 1–3 FHD. For anyone who likes Russian commentary these are usually the most comfortable option. The full list is on the channels page.
Which channel to look on for which league
Broadcasting rights are divided country by country and change between seasons. So the table below does not say «it is always like this» — it is a guide to which channels it makes sense to check when you are hunting for a match.
| Broadcast | Check these channels first |
|---|---|
| Azerbaijan Premier League | İdman TV, CBC Sport |
| Turkish Süper Lig | Bein Sports 1, Bein Sports 2, Bein Sports Haber |
| UEFA Champions League | Tabii Spor 1, Tabii Spor 2, TRT Spor |
| English Premier League | Sky Sports Football, TNT Sports 1, S Sport 1, S Sport Plus |
| Spanish and Italian leagues | Movistar Deportes, S Sport 2, Tivibu Spor |
| German Bundesliga | DAZN Germany, Tivibu Spor |
| French and Portuguese leagues | Canal+ Sport, Sport TV 1 |
| Formula 1 | Sky Sports F1, Eurosport |
| Tennis, cycling, winter sports | Eurosport 1, Eurosport 2 |
| Football with Russian commentary | Матч Премьер FHD, Матч Футбол 1–3 FHD |
The English Premier League is the most asked-about subject, so we opened it up separately: Premier League kick-off times and channels.
Why quality matters more on sports channels
In football the picture quality is not a decorative matter. Fast camera movement, the large area of green pitch and the small size of the ball make compression artefacts show up at once: on a weak stream the ball disappears for a moment as it leaves a foot, and the grass looks like a smeared patch.
Bitrate
The same HD label can sit on top of very different bitrates. That is exactly why we keep the sports channels on high-bitrate servers.
Frame rate
A 50 frames-per-second broadcast looks cleaner in fast motion. On Tabii Spor and the UHD streams that difference is noticeable.
4K streams
On a large screen, selected matches can be watched in 4K. The conditions: 25+ Mbps internet and a 4K-capable television.
Latency — let us be straight about it
An IPTV broadcast runs a few seconds behind satellite or cable. That is not a fault, it is how the technology is built: the broadcast is cut into small video segments, uploaded to a server, and your device downloads them, builds a buffer and then plays them. That buffer is what keeps the picture running without breaks, but it also creates the delay.
In practice it feels like this: a goal goes in, you hear the neighbours shout, and you are still watching the build-up. Or a news alert reaches your phone before you see the goal. This gap cannot be reduced to zero, but it can be made smaller.
- Use a cable connection. Moving from Wi-Fi to an Ethernet cable removes the biggest single cause of latency — packet loss.
- Shrink the buffer. Most IPTV apps have a buffer setting. A small buffer reduces latency, but on a weak connection it raises the risk of freezing.
- Stop downloads during the match. A download or a cloud sync running on the same network squeezes the match stream.
- Choose FHD instead of 4K. If your connection is borderline, the lower quality stream runs more stably and with less delay.
- Open the channel 5 minutes before kick-off. The buffer fills during the first seconds after a channel opens; a channel left open until the first whistle runs more stably.
The simplest way to stop racing against latency is to turn off notifications from sports apps and news channels for the length of the match. A few seconds of difference only becomes a problem if there is a phone in the room that knows the score before you do.
Watching two matches at once
On the final day of a season many matches start at the same time. A standard subscription is for one device — open a second screen at the same time and the stream cuts out. If you want to follow two matches in parallel, you take the multi-device plan: one match on the television, the other on a tablet.
When a cafe, a sports bar or an office needs more screens than that, the calculation is done individually — in that case a corporate subscription is the better fit.
Test it before the season starts
The worst mistake with a sports subscription is trying the service for the first time during the first important match of the season. Open the sports channels during the 24-hour free trial and check them at kick-off time, when your network is under load. If you watch a whole season, the 6-month package usually lines up with the football calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Does football arrive with a delay on IPTV?
Yes, there is a delay of a few seconds, and that is normal for every IPTV service. The reason is that the broadcast is cut into small segments and played through a buffer — and that buffer is what prevents freezing. To reduce latency, use a cable connection, shrink the buffer in the app and keep the channel open for a few minutes before kick-off.
Are the beIN Sports channels in the package?
Yes, the sports category lists Bein Sports 1–5 and Bein Sports Haber. Alongside them there are also the S Sport, Exxen Sport, Tivibu Spor and Tabii Spor streams — when you are hunting for the Turkish league or the European cups you usually find the match in one of this group. Channel names belong to their respective rights holders.
Can I watch a match in 4K?
For selected matches, yes — not every fixture is broadcast in 4K, and that depends on the broadcaster. To watch in 4K you need a 4K-capable television and 25+ Mbps internet. If your connection is below that, choosing the Full HD stream is the better call: it runs more stably and freezes less in fast motion. In detail: 4K IPTV.
Can I watch two matches at the same time?
Not on a standard subscription — one code works on one screen at a time. For two matches there is a 2-device plan (18 AZN a month), and for three or more screens a 22 AZN plan. Closing the stream on the television and opening it on a phone, that is using it in turn, is possible on a standard subscription too.
Are Azerbaijan Premier League matches available?
For local matches check İdman TV and CBC Sport first — both are in the Azerbaijani category. Which channel carries a particular round depends on the broadcasting rights, so it has to be confirmed on match day; write to us on WhatsApp and we can tell you the channel for that match.
What should I do if the picture freezes during a match?
Check three things in order: whether a download is running on the same network, whether the connection is Wi-Fi, and whether the channel is the 4K variant. Switching to the FHD stream or plugging in a cable solves it most of the time. If it continues, write to us — we move you to a backup server. Support works 24/7, so even if the match is at midnight you get an answer.
